Abstract

The purpose of the scientific interpretation of the Holy Qur'an is to explain the verses of the Qur'an by means of new sciences. The science here means experimental sciences, that are, sciences that test the correctness or incorrectness of the theories and laws governing nature through trial and error. Checks. This method has been started since ancient times and has continued until now, and it is also of special importance, and there is a difference in its acceptance and validity, but it is always a stepping stone in favor of the proponents, even though the majority of Islamic scholars have agreed on its acceptance. And it has been considered as one of the important interpretation methods. However, in the way of using and interpreting it, they have put forward different viewpoints in such a way that some have called scientific interpretation in the sense of extracting all sciences from the Holy Quran, and some have called the application and imposition of scientific ideas on the Qur'an as scientific interpretation. Others have considered scientific interpretation to mean the use of science to better understand the verses of the Holy Qur'an and to prove the scientific miracles of the Qur'an. Each of them has mentioned reasons to prove their claim. The present research, using the analytical descriptive method, has also warned about the harms of the scientific interpretation method, which is caused by excesses and excesses in this kind of interpretation. The findings of the research show that the scholars of Qur'anic sciences, for that, aim for the basic principles such as the centrality of the Qur'an, the difference between the fields of religious and human knowledge, reference to definitive laws, non-opposition to certain themes of Sharia and avoiding accusing the Islamic Ummah of ignorance. The validity criteria of this method have been determined.
